KC Pumpkin Smash

Join Compost Collective KC for a family-friendly pumpkin smashing party at the Juniper Gardens Training Farm to divert pumpkins from KC landfills.

Did you know that pumpkins take up a lot of resources to grow and often end up in landfills? This creates greenhouse gases that warm our planet when they could be nourishing the soil instead! Let’s keep those pumpkins out of the landfill—smash them to bits and send them to have a new life in the soil as nutrient-rich compost!

It will be held Saturday, November 9 from 12 -4 pm featuring:

• Music
• Smashing tools provided (feel free to bring your own!)
• Kid-friendly fun!
• Snacks, drinks, games, and prizes!
• Beer provided by Casual Animal Brewing (bring your own cup or grab one of ours!)
