Native Plants: Native Yards, Getting Started – virtual

When it comes to native plants, you don’t have to wait for spring to start preparing for spring planting.

People who want to get native plants established around their home should start planning in the fall.

Fall is not only a good time to plant native plants, but it’s also ideal for starting new garden beds.

Learn how to prepare your yard and garden for next spring and summer with expert help during a virtual program hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).

MDC will offer a free virtual program, “Native Plants: Native Yards, Getting Started,” on October 9 at 5 PM.

The virtual class will cover the basics of naturescaping and walk you through the process of dealing with unwanted turf grass, preparing the space, and thoughtful planting.

People can register for the class at: https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/203399
