PlantRight Homestead Festival
The two-day annual PlantRight Homestead Festival celebrates homesteading, self-sufficiency, and sustainable living at Colonial Gardens in Blue Springs, MO.
Immerse yourself in speaker sessions, live demonstrations, and a marketplace with over 50 vendors focused on organic produce, raising backyard animals, preserving food, and crafting handmade goods.
The festival keynote speakers include:
- Rachael West, founder of Eating the Ozarks and author of “Wild Foraged” teaching Culinary Alchemy: Exploring the art of cooking with wild spices and foraged delicacies.
- Hand Hewn Farms teaching Take It Easy: Butchering in Your Own Home with Less Stress
- Bo Brown, founder of First Earth Wilderness School and author of “Foraging the Ozarks” and “Foraging Central Grasslands”.
The festival events and workshops will be held Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24.
Workshop sessions topics include homesteading 101, kombucha home brewing, food preservation basics, cold-pressed soaps, beginner beekeeping, dairy sheep 101, homestead orchards, propagation practices, and more.

The event is hosted at Colonial Gardens, a community greenhouse and local nursery in Blue Springs, MO featuring nursery plants, a cafe, farm, and landscaping services.
