If commuting by bike seems daunting, sign up for Confident City Cycling and get tips and tricks to safely ride on city streets at a BikeWalkKC workshop.
This three-class series will be held from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on these Thursday nights: August 19, 26 and April 2. Participants will learn new concepts for navigating streets and will build practical bike handling skills necessary for city riding. This intensive series teaches safety knowledge and bike handling skills, culminating with a group bike ride in a safe and supporting environment.
Bike commuters who ride just four miles to work avoid 2,000 miles of driving and about 2,000 pounds of CO2 emissions each year, according to BikeWalkKC. They also save money, increase stamina and add exercise to daily habits.
The class is open to all skill levels, including new cyclists, bike commuters, ride leaders, transportation professionals and those interested in leading adult or youth bike training.
The class will be held at BikeWalkKC, 1106 E. 30thStreet, Suite G , Kansas City, MO. Registration is free, but a $25 donation is suggested. To register, go to BikeWalkKC.
