Panda Boxes and Goodwill are teaming up to make moving easier and donating items to charity even more eco-friendly.
When customers rent Panda Boxes’ reusable, stackable moving containers, they can request to “Give 2 Goodwill” and receive additional boxes at no charge for donations to Goodwill. After the move, Panda Boxes picks up the boxes and delivers the donations to Goodwill. The boxes eliminate the use of cardboard boxes when moving and donating household items.
Goodwill distributes the donations to its local retail stores where proceeds from goods sold support Goodwill’s mission to empower people with disadvantages through employment and training opportunities.
“We can make this typically heavy process (of moving) light-hearted and meaningful, when we consider leaving a positive impact on the environment and our community,” said Matt Zabielski, Panda Boxes co-founder. “By renting reusable Panda Boxes and donating what is no longer needed to Goodwill, we’re doing just that. It’s a planetary win you could say.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Panda Boxes,” said Stefany Williams, Goodwill of Western MO & Eastern KS President and CEO. “Diverting items from landfills and giving them “new life” at our thrift stores creates a healthier environment and makes a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.”
Goodwill has 14 stores and additional donation sites in the Kansas City metro area. Panda Boxes rents stackable plastic residential and commercial moving boxes that can be used nearly 300 times before being recycled.
