Are you looking for an alternative to your water-thirsty, chemical-dependent lawn? Or just trying to avoid fossil fuel intensive mowing?
Learn how to create a regenerative, natural ecosystem at this free Green America webinar with Owen Wormser, author of a new book, Lawns into Meadows: Growing a regenerative landscape.
Wormser will explain how to plant an organic meadow using the basic practices of meadow design and take you on a meadow tour from 3 – 4 p.m. (EST), Thursday, July 30. Register at Green America and receive a link to this virtual webinar.
In the U.S., there are 63,000 square miles of lawns, enough to cover the state of Texas, according to Wormser. With all of their chemical inputs, lawns can wreak havoc on natural ecosystems. In contrast, adding native plants to a landscape helps establish wildlife and pollinator habitats, is low-maintenance, low cost and much more resilient to weather climate extremes than a monoculture lawn.
Wormser is a landscape architect who designs regenerative, low-maintenance landscapes through his company Abound Design.
It says the registration is closed. Any way we can register for another date, time?
