The cardinal flower, Lobelia cardinalis, is native to North America and can be found growing wild in prairies, meadows and forests. It provides food for pollinators and nectar for hummingbirds. This perennial also has a high tolerance for soil moisture, which makes it a smart choice for a rain garden.
