More and more drivers are making the switch to electric vehicles, and Climate Action KC’s newest initiative, Plug-In KC, is here to help drivers make the transition.
Plug-In KC aims to scale up both the EV market, and the infrastructure needed to support a transformation in the Kansas City area to EVs in both the public and private sector.
The initiative features the Plug-In KC website, a one-stop source of information for the region featuring EV basics, comparing different models, and all of the financial incentives available to local drivers for new and used cars, EV home charging, as well as commercial savings programs.
The Plug-In KC program is in partnership with Evergy who maintains over 1000 EV charging stations across the region through the Clean Charge Network.
With the program, you can also explore profiles of local EV drivers including the new video series, “Hey KC, I Love my EV!” featuring Kansas Citians who have made the switch. The first video in the series features Alex who has a very long commute and he needed to make a change.
Climate Action KC launched Plug-In KC in March of 2024 to help the region meet its climate goals as vehicle emissions are the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases (GHG).
