It’s time to recycle your gently used shoes at Shoe-In sponsored by the Environmental Action Committee of Village Presbyterian Church and Shawnee Community Services.
This is the last weekend to donate to the month-long shoe drive, and all sizes and types of footwear are needed. Donations can be left in the barrels located inside the south entrance of the church at 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS.
Shawnee Community Services will give the footwear to those in need in the Kansas City area, keeping it out of the landfill for at least another round of wear.
During the first Shoe-In in 2011 the groups collected 831 pairs of shoes, and in 2013 they received 1,352 pairs.
