Minddrive is looking for mentors to help guide teens through automotive design classes for electric vehicles and digital communication skills.
Mentors volunteer to help students learn about problem solving, collaboration and teamwork. They also serve as role models in the innovative process of Minddrive’s projects where students learn how to design and build an electric vehicle, how to use digital communication and how to prepare for job interviews. Some of the classes include CAD design, welding, video editing, solar light design and ACT test preparation.
Participating students come from the public school districts of Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS; Shawnee Mission, KS; Raytown, MO; and charter schools, including University Academy, Alta Vista High School, DeLaSalle Education Center; and private schools including Cristo Rey Kansas City.
