Help keep toxic materials out of the landfill by recycling your old computers and e-waste at upcoming free electronic recycling events.
Midwest Recycling Center will accept almost all electronics including computers and networking equipment, cell phones and chargers, and medical, home audio, recording and retail equipment.
Most e-waste recycling is free. There are $5 – $50 fees to recycle televisions, CRT monitors, freon containing devices, alkaline batteries, magnetic media (VHS tapes, cassette tapes, floppy disks), CDs, and DVDs.
Kansas City, MO – Saturday, May 20
On Saturday, May 20, Kansas City, MO is hosting an electronic recycling event at the Manual Career Tech Center, 1310 E Truman Rd., from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
In addition to electronics, residents can drop off tires, documents for shredding, leaf/brush, bulky trash, and glass at this hard-to-recycle event.
Parkville, MO – Saturday, June 3
On Saturday, June 3, an electronic recycling event will be held at Platte Landing Park, 300 S. Main St. in Parkville, MO. from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. This event is open to the public.
Midwest Recycling Center also offers free public drop-off hours at its Kansas City location. It’s open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and located at 2000 E. 19th St., Kansas City, MO.
